Escape

Commission from a client wanting to feature a free standing butterfly artwork in her home in Courmayeur in the Italian Alps.
The client requested that the piece use 2 butterflies native to the Alpian area, the Common Blue with it’s distinctive white and black edged upperwing and speckled orangey lower wing – coupled with the beautifully patterned black and white Bath White butterfly with olive green patterned lower wing. Part of the brief was to feature isolated clusters of butterflies in close proximity to the box, on walls and furniture almost as though a number of the butterflies have escaped the confines of the box
